Conway connected twice in the opening period to put the visitors up by two as he found the net at 12:13 and again with just five seconds remaining in the session.

Battling back, Jacob Erwin got the Eskis on the board at 6:43 of the second to make it a 2-1 game.

Nathan Avery delighted the home side of nearly 400 in attendance with the equalizer, via the power play, before the middle session was complete to knot the affair at 2-2 with just over three minutes left.

Kirkland Lake however came out quickly in the final frame to go in front for good as Brayden Stortz and Conway put the visitors up a pair scoring 11 seconds apart.

Dillon Bruce brought the Eskis back to within one with 13:10 to go, but it would turn out to be the final goal of the night as the Gold Miners held for the decision.

Kirkland Lake outshot Iroquois Falls 41-24 overall with Marc Audet picking up the win while Josh Horner finished with 37 saves in defeat.

Exhibition action continues Sunday afternoon as the Powassan Voodoos take on the Kingston Voyageurs of the Ontario Junior Hockey League at the Canada Summit Centre in Huntsville.
